FAQ
Depending on the canton you work in, you may be taxed in France or subject to Swiss Tax at Source (Geneva) on your Swiss employment income.

If your Swiss employment income is taxed in Switzerland and 90% of your global income is Swiss sourced, you may qualify for “quasi-resident” status and could claim a deduction for certain expenses incurred, such as contributions to 3rd pillar A account, commuting expenses, etc.

Some countries allow you to work up to 24.9%, 40% or 49.9% of your activity from home without this having an impact on the applicable social security scheme. The rules may be different for tax purposes. You should seek professional advice.

Managing tax obligations across two countries can be complex due to different tax rules and international tax law. It is essential to understand the international tax issues that may arise from your specific situation, including residency status and taxation of various sources of income and wealth elements.

Cross-border tax planning is crucial to optimise your tax position and avoid double taxation. A tax advisor can provide valuable insights and guidance tailored to your situation. They can help you navigate through the different tax systems, ensuring compliance while maximising your tax efficiency. By working with a professional, you can effectively manage your obligations and make appropriate decisions for your future.
